Electronic Communication
By using TalktoCanada’s website you will allow us to communicate with you via email, MSN Messenger, Skype or telephone. By using our website you consent to allowing us to correspond with you via the above means of communication.
License and Site Access
TalktoCanada authorizes you to make a complete and fair use of the website and it’s content in a manner that will not infringe on copyright law or trademark issues. You are not allowed to make the site retrievable with web design programs or view its source code, except for educational purposes or offline content management. Educational purposes do not include any business or organization who will profit from knowing information that is contained in the aforementioned website.
Copyright
All material presented on TalktoCanada is copyright of MarcMedia and will not be used in an unlawful manner so as to break the law or infringe on copyright or trademark laws. Where the content or images is not owned by MarcMedia, it will be documented to who it belongs to and referenced to the current author or authors of such material. All software used on the TalktoCanada site is property of either TalktoCanada or its respective owner(s) and is protected by Canadian and international copyright laws.
Your Account
You are responsible for your username and password if you are a registered user of TalktoCanada and should email TalktoCanada as soon as possible if you forget your username or password.
English Sessions
You agree to be online and ready for your session at your chosen time or the agreed upon time by TalktoCanada. Before you have your lesson, TalktoCanada expects you to have either the Skype program or MSN Messenger properly installed and functioning. It is also required and imperative that you have a headset and a webcam is optional. If the connection speed is slow, TalktoCanada may ask you to turn off your webcam in order to increase connection speed with the service. Should you be having any technical difficulties with your computer or headset, it is expected that you give us a minimum of 24 hours notice or even 48 hours notice if at all possible. Any cancellation of your scheduled lesson times, must be given 48 hours prior to the lesson taking place. Any missed lessons without giving warning of missing a lesson shall incur a penalty of 100% of that particular sessions fee(s).
We charge fees for missing services in order to keep our services as professional as possible and to compensate the teacher who was ready and prepared for your lesson. This policy also allows us to penalize those who do not properly notify us by email if they are going to miss a lesson and therefore allows us to keep our fees as low as possible by not charging everybody a premium to account for these missed services.
Fees and Services
MarcMedia deals in Canadian dollars and all financial transactions are in Canadian dollars unless stated otherwise. All fees for services to be rendered are considered due before the service(s) takes place. All individual or residential accounts, will be paid in full before any English session/lesson is to take place. If you have a lesson booked with TalktoCanada and have an outstanding balance, TalktoCanada will not start your lesson or lessons should you have more than one booked. Corporate accounts may or may not get special consideration for financial payment of services performed or to be performed. All corporate account payments are expected within two weeks of being notified that your account is due. Any unpaid accounts, after a set period of time and ample warning may be sent to a credit agency who will than be responsible for collecting any amounts owing to TalktoCanada a division of MarcMedia. If you owe money to a credit agency, please do not send MarcMedia the money as it should now be taken up with the credit agency in regards to making payments.
Privacy Issues
TalktoCanada does not sell your information to any third parties unless you expressly give us consent to do so. If you have a privacy complaint, please let us know as soon as possible or read our privacy policy to learn about more options. All information about your account or communications with us is stored in centrally located computers at our head office in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. We take all necessary precautions in protection of your data that would be expected by an average person using technological programs and physical protections.
