Ok, so Google Images isn’t really my best friend — I do have a life outside of online teaching (a *REAL* life — sans virtual) believe-it-or-not — but Google Images is absolutely one of my “top friends” while teaching.  Our relationship started out over 3 years ago and has been growing ever since.  I use Google Images on a daily basis — and it really helps explain different things to students while you are teaching, especially if they are a lower level.  I’ve shared pictures of my hometown, famous Canadian (and other country) landmarks, pictures of food, animals, bug spray, fruit leather, marshmallows, mate, you name it and I’ve searched it.  Sometimes I have been surprised with the results and usually check to make sure that my results come up PG (not graphic) before sharing anything with my students.  But all in all Google Images does not disappoint.  I encourage all online teachers to have quick and easy access to this site, and it will help facilitate conversation and learning for students from all levels.  And no — Google did not sponsor me —  I am just an avid fan of the tools that they offer to make life easier.
