TalktoCanada.com has a variety of programs available that can all be suited to fit your particular company. Any topic that is related to English we can teach, all the way from accent reduction to vocabulary we can do it all. We do things a bit differently for our corporate customers so make sure to visit our corporate ESL solutions page and don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions that we haven't addressed on the website. Prices for all corporate customers are charged a flat rate of $30Cdn per hour/session and can be booked by filling out our special corporate booking form, if you are booking an individual in your company than please fill out our general booking form.
What happens if I cancel my appointment?
48 hours is generally required in order to cancel your lesson. If you miss your lesson without letting us know and a staff member at TalktoCanada.com waits for you, you will be charged the full hourly rate. If you need to miss a lesson please email us at admin [at] talktocanada.com and your tutor if you know his or her email. Your teachers email will typically be their first and last name together at TalktoCanada.com. For example if your teacher was John Smith, his email would be johnsmith@talktocanada.com.
For how long should I book a session?
This is a question based on your own needs and goals. If you just want to have general language conversations with TalktoCanada.com on a weekly basis, we recommend a one hour session twice a week. You can book lessons as short as 30 minutes or as long as 1.5 hours. Our average lesson is 60 minutes in length.
What is the maximum amount of hours that I can study with a teacher?
There is no limit on how many lessons you take or how long in length they are. None of our current students learn for more than 4 hours in any one week, so it shouldn't ever be a problem of actually meeting with your teacher daily or weekly.
I am going on holidays for a week, will I lose what I already paid in advance?
Of course not! You will not lose the money you have already paid in advance. You can come back from your holidays and start again where you last left off. Some of our students even have lessons at random intervals but pay all up front and basically have those lessons they paid for available for when they need them.

TalktoCanada.com will help you improve your pronunciation and speaking skills through live one on one speaking engagements with a teacher based in Canada. Every time you are speaking with a native English speaker you will naturally improve your pronunciation and speaking skills just by hearing the speaker speak. Even while you are learning, the teacher will make corrections and advise you on how you can improve. You can also further improve your English by asking the TalktoCanada.com staff to record your lessons for your own reference later on.
Can TalktoCanada.com teachers help improve my vocabulary?
Vocabulary is dealt in a variety of ways here at TalktoCanada.com. We focus on developing your vocabulary through writing exercises where you would get a list of words to make sentences out of. Students can also have a list of problem words they are having and asked to review them and then discuss them next class.

Depending on your course content, you may want to improve your written English. What happens after I fill out the 'book a session' form?
After you fill out the book a session form, we will contact you within 12 hours in order to confirm your interest in taking lessons with TalktoCanada.com. You will also be required to pay TalktoCanada.com before you can take your first lesson and agree on a suitable lesson time with staff at TalktoCanada.com. *Note, corporate clients may choose to be billed at a later date if approved by TalktoCanada.com management.
How do I schedule ongoing sessions?
After taking your first trial lesson, a member of the TalktoCanada.com team will contact you regarding future lessons. You may also cofirm new lessons with your TalktoCanada.com teacher.
How much does Skype cost and is that included in your fees?
Skype is a free program if used to call other people using Skype. If you use Skype to call traditional phones being a land line or a cell phone, additional costs may be incurred. There is no additional cost included into our services because Skype is a free program.

What can I do to make sure that I am ready when the session happens and that there are no problems?
In order to prepare for your session, you should make sure that your headset and web cam are working properly and that your Internet connection is having no problems. You should also be in an area of your home or office with few distractions that could hinder your concentration.
Can I call TalktoCanada.com from my phone?
TalktoCanada.com services are generally not available over a traditional phone line. We have made exceptions to this rule for corporate clients who have issues with firewall's or installation of programs by employees. If you absolutely must learn on a phone, we highly recommend using a headset before you take your first lesson as comfort is a big issue with TalktoCanada.com and we want you to be relaxed as much as possible.
Why do you recommend Skype for your service?
TalktoCanada.com is able to offer it's services at affordable rates because of cheaper communication costs around the world due to Vo-IP adoption. The Skype program is inherently free in and of itself. TalktoCanada.com would not be able to offer this online service unless Skype was available for free. We recommend that you have Skype downloaded and ready to use before booking a session with us.
What kind of internet connection do I need in order to talk with TalktoCanada.com?
TalktoCanada.com recommends using a high speed connection in order to have video and voice capabilities. Dial-up Internet can handle the voice over the internet as it surprisingly takes little bandwidth in order to work, but we cannot offer video capabilities if you have dial-up. We have very few clients who use dial-up Internet, so we have little experience talking to people with dial-up. If dial-up is all that you have available, we would be more than happy to try it out with you.
How can I test out Skype to make sure my headset is working?
A simple way to test your Skype headset is by visiting the Skype website and viewing the Skype Sound Set Up Guide. You can make a test call to the Skype answering machine by clicking on the link near the bottom of the page called 'testing your sound setup'. The page also gives detailed instructions on how to setup your sound connection. If your headset is not working and you need a new one, I would recommend the Logitech 350 USB Headset (also available in stereo).
Do you offer video with all your sessions?
TalktoCanada.com has video capabilities that can be used if you so chose in order to watch your tutor in real time.
What happens if the session is cancelled because of Internet problems?
TalktoCanada.com will reschedule your appointment at a later date and time that is convenient for you.
What are the technical requirements to use TalktoCanada.com services?

Payment Methods
What payment methods do you accept for your services?
TalktoCanada.com accepts all major credit cards, online cheque (U.S. only), money order, direct deposit to our business bank account in Canada, moneybookers.com. Any type of payment that is not immediate will cause a delay in your lessons until the money is in our bank account. Corporate customers are allowed to pay by invoicing, please visit our corporate service fees page to learn more.
Can I get a refund if I am not satisfied with the English lessons?
You will get a refund on any lessons that you paid for up front and have not taken yet. We have not had a client ever ask for a refund, so please email us before it comes to this so we can solve any problem you might be having.
Do you offer free trial lessons?
TalktoCanada.com is no longer offering free trial lessons to individual consumers. We may offer free trial lessons to qualifying corporate customers.

TalktoCanada.com will work with your company to find an alternative solution. Alternatives include using a regular phone with the client using a headset or your choice of interactive training software approved by your company such as WebEx. Additional charges may apply to non traditional methods besides Skype for teaching English, contact us for further details. There may also be a bit of a time delay if our staff needs to be trained on your specific software platform.
We use special pay per use training software, can your company still teach our staff?
Yes, we can still teach your staff. Additional charges will most likely apply in this case and it would be best to talk with a manager at TalktoCanada.com in order to get a more accurate solution for your company.
Do I have to pay all lesson fees up front?
A lot of our corporate clients pay up front for all of their lessons but you can decide to pay later if approved by management.
